Prayer Letter

January 2021

Hi greetings to you in the Lord!

Firstly, I'd like to say thank you for your continued prayers and support. Here we are again, at the start of a new calendar year, though a lot different than this time last year.

This time last year we were looking forward to a new session. With new teams, new riders and new machinery.

As with each new session it requires a lot of work and preparation right up to the start of racing! Likewise, those of us involved with Fireblade Ministries will also be preparing for the new session!

How that all changed.

You could never have imagined that racing in 2020 would be so badly affected, with many road racing events cancelled and all sports affected too.

You could never in your wildest dreams thought that restaurants would be closed.

You could have never thought we could not meet up with our families. Even church buildings closed, everyone has been affected, a virus has changed life as we know it. We all know someone who has been badly affected with this virus, we continue to keep all those who have lost loved ones in these difficult days in our thoughts and prayers.

Those of us involved with Fireblade Ministries have missed meeting people at the various events.

Whether it's been at a road race, a short circut race meeting, those we meet as we go around the country, those on the mainland and all on the Isle Of Man.

Our prayer is that this will happen soon, but who knows.

We are reminded in the Bible about a virus called sin that affects everyone.

In Romans 3v23 we read “All have sinned,” that's the bad news but in John 3v6 we read the Good news.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

Everyone is looking for a cure that is causing so much suffering, not affecting us all as some will not get!

Sin is something we all have, there's only one cure for sin, his name is Jesus Christ.

He died for our sin! He took our punishment! He paid our debt! But we must turn from our sin, ask him to forgive us and trust him as our Lord and Saviour then we will be ready for heaven, we will enjoy life now, we will have peace with God now and for all eternity.

Our prayer is that you will come to know our God who brings hope in a troubled world and contentment something this world can't give you.

Mark chapter 16 verse 15 says, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel.

Scripture verse for 2021

Psalm 119 verse 115.

“Thy word is a Lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path.”

The Bible Project! Fireblade Ministries -NIV

Thank you for your continued prayers and support, for the Bible project!

Psalm 48 verse 14 says,

“For this God is our God for ever and ever, he will be our guide even to the end.”

Since 1994 God has guided those of us involved in Fireblade Ministries and even to this day continues to do so.

It's about five years ago now that we were, with Gods guidance, able to make available a copy of God’s word The Bible to all who wish to receive a copy! Over this past year we have had the opportunity to post out Bibles to those who have requested one.

If you would like to receive a copy email eddie.floyd@ntlworld.com and we will post one on to you!

I KNOW A MAN WHO CAN

I can't take a heart that's broken

Make it over again

But I know a man who can.

And I can't take a soul that's sin-sick

And make it white, whiter than snow

But I know a man who can.

Some call him Saviour, the redeemer

of all men

I call him Jesus, for he's my

dearest friend…

If you feel, no one can help you

And your life is out of hand

Well, I know a man who can.

I can't walk upon the waters

Or calm a raging sea

But I know a man who can.

And I can't cause blind eyes to

open

Make the lame to rise up and walk

again

But I know a man who can.

Maybe today you are facing the difficult challenges of life and you may feel overwhelmed. You are fortunate if you have a friend here on earth who can bear these challenges with you. But please remember that the best place to take your challenges is straight to the Lord Jesus. Are you weary? Are you heavy laden? Are the tears flowing? Are you anxious about tomorrow? Are you worried about dying? Then take it to Jesus in prayer

TT 2018 outreach report!

Time for a change

The 2019 TT brought about many changes like in 2018, new layout and an extended paddock, which meant some stalls moved to a new position and also new stalls added which brought along new people. We were one of the stalls that got a new pitch and a new marquee this year !!! As our original marquee was destroyed in 2017 due to the bad weather. What a difference a year made with wall-to-wall sunshine in 2018. The new marquee was great and we are so thankful to all who helped make it possible. This year we noticed we had a lot of new folk along with the regular folk who pop by every year and say hello. It was encouraging to see many many Gospel tracts, booklets and Bibles taken with a number of good chats with folk. We also appreciated the words of encouragement from other Christians who pop by and said hello. It was a very encouraging 2018 TT outreach in our new pitch and upon our new marquee. Finally, this makes me think about another new we find in the bible in 2 Corinthians 5 verse 17 we read about a new creation, not a new start in life but a new life to start with!! The question you may be thinking – Who, how and when can we get this new life? The who is God’s Son who died for our Sin. The how is by believing

that he died for our sins and by placing our trust in him as our Saviour. When we repent from our sins and put our faith in Christ Jesus then we can have his new creation. Many people are looking for a new life and try all sorts of things to achieve it. Like moving house, buying a new car or motorbike, some try all sorts of stuff to get satisfaction, but as the words of a song go - (I can't get no satisfaction) how true!!! But with the Lord Jesus this is not so, he guides and leads us. He said “I will never leave or forsake thee.” The best thing about this new life is we have sins forgiven, a home in Heaven, peace with God and the peace of God in our hearts something money can't buy !!! Do you know this peace I pray as we head into 2019 you may put your faith and trust in the one who died for your sin and mine what a difference this will make complete and lasting peace once again thanks to all who helped us in 2018.

Sunday 23rd February

Tonight was an evening of celebration and thanks giving for 25 years of Fireblade Ministries held at Grace Baptist Church. The church was packed full of people who have been involved, supported and interested to hear what the Lord had done and how he had blessed the work through Eddie and the team.

The evening was to give Glory to God for what he has done over the last 25 years and to look forward with anticipation to what he is going to do in the future.

Throughout the evening we were reminded how important it is to keep the Main thing the Main thing.

Free colouring sheets

Fireblade Ministries along with artist Billy, www.billyart.co.uk produced free Colouring sheets drawn by the amazing Billy. They are for children but grown-ups can get them too. Check out the Fireblade Ministries website www.firebladeministries.co.uk for further details.

Events 2021

  1. In this current situation we all find ourselves in. We have had to cancel or postpone all events at this present time.
  2. We will continue to keep in touch with one and all through phone calls, social media etc.
  3. Sunday 6th June. Would normally be the morning when we arrange our annual TT service in the Mike Hailwood centre. With the 2021 TT races being cancelled we plan God willing with some friends from Isle of Man organise a online service via Facebook and YouTube.
